During 1980, a large scale Field Day sponsored by NBN-TV, saw 11,000 members of the public view the Australian Aerobatic Team in action before their departure for America and the World Titles.
1980 – 1990
The Club took delivery of a new Cessna 172 VH-RNX. During the eighties a commuter service owned by a private firm ‘Club air’ operated two Nomad passenger aircraft on scheduled services to Sydney from Maitland, and a charter service owned by ‘Travmar’ operated two DC 3 aircraft from the Club’s airfield.
