This year, the Royal Newcastle Aero Club celebrates 90 years of operation.

An Open Day is organised for the Saturday. Arriving aircraft will have their landing fees have been waived for the Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd of February..

On Saturday 23rd February 2019 there will be a morning fun flight over the Newcastle Region. Join the tiger moth and the rest of the RNAC fleet. We anticipate an early briefing with an 8.00am departure from Maitland to Newcastle, along the coast and back to Maitland for a 10.00am official ceremony. On Saturday morning there will be various air activities and a hangar open day on the airfield where a multitude of different aeroplanes will be on display.
The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) flight simulators will be in attendance and they will also have details of their soon to be launched youth engagement and education program. This day would be of interest to any students above the age of 14 years of age considering a career in aviation. The AOPA bus will be onsite with simulators for visitors to use.
There will be a BBQ and a coffee cart on site. Public are welcome to the airfield on Saturday to join in the open day.
