The Royal Newcastle Aero Club has a long and proud history, with it’s beginnings back in 1928.
The de Havilland DH.82 Tiger Moth is a single-engine biplane light aircraft. It was developed principally to be used by private touring customers as well as for pilot instruction for both military and civil operators. It is typically powered by a de Havilland Gipsy III 120 hp engine; later models are often fitted with more powerful models of this engine.
Our beautiful DH-82 Tiger Moth, an historical open cockpit biplane, is flying once more after being skillfully restored to excellent condition in our own workshop.

Upon your arrival at the airport our pilot will provide some history of this vintage flying machine. Following this, there will be a safety briefing and then it’s time to climb into the cockpit and buckle up, put on your supplied leather helmet and goggles and taxi out ready for departure! Just picture yourself or your loved one sitting in the front seat of the Tiger Moth, with the pilot sitting behind, giving them a completely uninterrupted view from lift-off to touch-down.
